Starting from January 2020 each new construction intention shall only be registered electronically – in the Building Information System (BIS) www.bis.gov.lv
There are two ways how to arrange construction documentation if You have a real estate in Latvia and want to perform operations with it, but You are not a resident of Latvia:
- You can go to the Construction board in which territory the real estate is located. The Construction board will grant You an access to the BIS for further formalities.
- You may also create a notarized power of attorney for another person to complete formalities on behalf of You. In this case, the authorized person will go to the territorial Construction board and will be granted an access to the BIS by presenting the authorization.
