SCCB ensures inspection and operational supervision of public buildings for safety of public and guests in Latvia.
Basic requirements for assessment of operationally “safe” building:
- mechanical resistance and stability;
- safety of use and accessibility of environment;
- absence of unauthorized construction.
Additionally to the above mentioned requirements, safety in case of fire, hygiene, health and the environment are evaluated.
During the inspection the SCCB inspector visually examines a building or structure and its maintenance documentation, including the technical inspection report.
After the inspection the conclusion on the operational safety of a public building and proof of any unauthorized construction is made according to the requirements specified in respective regulatory enactments.
