A protected user (a poor or low-income family (person), a multi-child family or family (person) in the care of which a child with disabilities is present, or a person with an I disability group who uses electricity in his or her own household for his or her own needs (end-use), shall be entitled to the marketing service of the protected user. In addition, the protected user has the possibility to verify his or her status and the amount of payment reduction due and applied on the portal www.latvija.lv. It is possible for a person to correct the data of the electricity contract to which the aid will be applied, as well as to withdraw from the status.

Process description

  1. Service requests
The receipt or application of the service to protected users is automatic if the protected user is a contracting entity; the protected user does not have to apply to the electricity trading service provider (trader) and do not have to provide documentation confirming the status of the protected user. The Protected User Data Information System (ALDIS) will apply the protected user category each month based on the information provided by the data controllers and will apply the corresponding amount of the reduction of the payment to the protected user's electricity contract. Traders will transfer their customers' contract data TO ALDIS, between which ALDIS will identify the protected user and the applicable reduction in the VAT electricity invoice and will send this information to each of the traders concerned. The reduction of the payment is offset by the government budget.
In order to correct the data of the electricity contract to which the aid will be applied, the person shall use the e-service or apply an application to the Office.

  2. Receipt of services
If the protected user is not a contracting entity but is a subuser or is not a contracting entity within the family, the service may be received in accordance with the contract concluded by the end-user. In such case, the protected user, except for a poor or low-income household (person), for which the local government provides the necessary data for the receipt of the service, shall apply for the receipt of the service to the electricity trader chosen by the contracting entity (end-user), indicating the contract number of the contracting party (end-user), his or her given name, personal identity number, the address of the receipt of the service and contact address of the contact person. information.
If the data are corrected, the information on the corrections shall be seen in the e-service or in the reply letter of the Office, if the request was made with an application to the Office.
